Women in Trades Day is an annual event that celebrates the achievements of women in the trades and encourages more women to consider careers in these fields.
Historically, women are underrepresented in the skilled trades. Fewer than 30% of the manufacturing workforce in the US is female. This event is aimed toward empowering and inspiring our middle and high school-aged and adult women to pursue careers in these non-traditional fields.
The Women in Trades Day event will include opportunities for networking, a tradeswomen panel discussion, guest speakers, live demonstrations, hands-on activities, employer booths, a “Get to Know the Employer” scavenger hunt activity, a welding competition, a light snack and lunch, and a “swag bag” for all guests.
